Paljugi on räägitud sellest, et veebistandardeid järgiv disain on väga meelt mööda mitmesugustele otsingumootoritele. See, kui lehekülg on vägisi valideeruma pandud, ei tähenda siinkohal veebistandardite järgimist - võtmeks on ikkagi lehekülje sisu semantiliselt korrektne ülesmärkimine ja mitmesuguse asjasse absoluutselt mitte puutuva informatsiooni (eelkõige kujunduse) HTML-ist väljajätmine.
Olen seda juttu kuulnud ja sinisilmselt uskunud - ilma, et oleksin kasvõi natukenegi küünitanud mingisuguste tõestuste või muu säärase järele. Seda kuni tänaseni päevani...
Nimelt toksisin ma miskipärast meie armsasse guuglisse sisse sõna „protsessor”, ning minu üllatus oli suur, kui kohe teise lingina pakkus google mulle mu enda kirjutatud referaati protsessoritest, mis siiasamasse triinulehele sai kusagil kuu aja eest ülesse riputatud. Tegelikult on see link isegi praktikas esimene, sest google pakub esimeseks AnandTech-i lehte, kus pole mitte sõnagi eesti keelt ning ka sõna „protsessor” ei suutnud ma sealt leida.
Siinkohal pean ma ausalt tunnistama, et arvuti riistvara ja üleüldse elektroonika on üks minu kõige nõrgemaid külgi. Nojah, samas protsessor on üks neist komponentidest mida ma tunnen rohkem kui teisi - seega, ega see referaat nüüd ikka päris täielik jama kah pole.
See selleks. Kuhu ma välja üritan tüürida on see, et antud kirjatükk pole ilmselgelt mingi koht kuhu kõik protsessoritest huvitatud eestlased suunduksid põhjalikke vastavasisulisi teadmisi ammutama. Mina näeksin, et esimeste viitadena pakuks google näiteks mõnda... mmm... asjatundja poolt kirjutatud lehte, mida ma usun, et nende 20 900 lehekülje seas ikka mõni leidub.
Ma pole seda protsessorireferaati kusagil promonud - kaugel sellest. Üksnes triinulehel leidub viide sellele kirjatükile, ei mujal. Millest siis säärane koht edetabelis?
Ma arvan, et enamus võlujõust peitub selles koodireas:

Sellele lisanduvad alapealkirjad, mis sisaldavad seda märksõna ning 'title' element, mille sisuks on samuti „protsessor” jne. Aga peamine on minu meelest siiski pealkiri.
Ma katsetasin ka mitmete sõnadega triinulehe artiklite pealkirjadest ning vägagi tihti andis google viite minu lehele juba esimesel leheküljel. Mul on mainimata veel see, et awstats-i andmetel on leitakse triinuleht kõige sagedamini otsingusõna „luuletused” peale - lehekülgi, kus leidub luuletusi, on aga eesti veebis ikka vägagi palju.
Proovisin otsida veel mitmesuguseid sõnu ning nägin ikka ja jälle, et esimeste seas olid ikka sellised lehed, kus suurelt ja selgelt vastav otsisõna pealkirjas olemas. Mitte et see nüüd midagi tõestama peaks... lihtsalt sellised tähelepanekud.

Kui ma seda uurimustööd lugesin, siis oli minu üllatus suur, nähes nii suure numbri(minu jaoks vähemalt) valideerivaid veebilehti.

Aga mida tegelikult otsimootor vaatab? Tõenäoline on, et mitte just seda, et tekst on pandud h1-e või mõne muu header tag-i sisse vaid seda kui suur see tekst ekraanil paistab. Headeri tag tõenäoliselt annab lisaväärtust, aga kui üle ekraani kirjutada "Protsessor", siis ilmselt see võetakse väga omaks küll.
Ja kui juba jutuks tuli... otsimootorid vaatavad väidetavalt ka seda, mis järjekorras asjad dokumendis on. Aga nad vaatavad ka kujundust. Kumb siis "võidab"? Näiteks kui css-iga tõsta mõni h1 fixed reegliga kõige üles ja panna ta tõeliselt suureks, siis mida arvestatakse?

Tähtede suurus nii CSS-iga kui ilma seatuna ei mängi otsingumootori jaoks mingit rolli. Oluline on tekst ise. Sellepärast ongi piltidest pealkirjade asemel parem kasutada teksti (h1, h2, h3...)

Olulised on h ja b (strong). samas võib selle h1 cssiga nähtamatuks muuta ja mõju on sama kui ta ülikontrastselt 72 punktise kirjaga välja kirjutada. praegu otsingumootorid veel kujundust ja cssi ei jälgi. Kõige olulisem on aga title. Title üksi, tühjal lehel ei toimi aga kui on lisaks ka mõistliku sisu, siis on titlel väga oluline kaal.
